Project for the Web-Often simply called Project, this version includes the Project Home, the roadmap, and an intuitive web interface to help informal project managers plan and manage work.
Online Project - This flexible iteration includes features to manage project portfolio management and daily work, including planning, prioritization, and management of projects and investments within the project portfolio.
Desktop client Project Online – The desktop/laptop version provides Microsoft's project management platform with automated scheduling, project resource management, and built-in reporting that teams can use in a standalone setup or connect to Microsoft Project Online.
MS Project cloud solutions are available in Project Plans 1, 3, and 5. Microsoft Project Plan 1 includes different work views, collaboration, timesheet submission, and other basic project management features such as scheduling, planning, and reporting.
Project Plan 3 and Project Plan 5 include more advanced Microsoft tools such as roadmap, portfolio management, additional desktop clients, demand management, and other enterprise tools.
On-premises solutions include the latest versions of Project Standard and Project Professional for users who do not need collaboration tools. Microsoft Project Server is also available as an on-premises solution for portfolio management, daily work, and project management.
